DRIFTWOOD IS LOOKING FOR A DIRECTIONAL DRILLER | LOCATOR | HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR.

If you are a skilled Directional Driller (locator/equipment operator) with a Class 3 License who is looking for work, Driftwood has an exciting telecom opportunity for you based in the Winnipeg GTA.

Location: Winnipeg GTA * we cannot cover relocation costs.
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Compensation: Compensation based on experience

In this role, you will:

- Be experienced with Directional Drilling (required)
-Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment in the high-quality installation of underground telecommunications infrastructure
- Work in varied weather conditions
- Complete pre-work and ongoing safety hazard assessments and hazard controls; report any incidents and injuries
- Conduct pre-trip equipment inspections; report all issues
- Complete routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and repairs
- Review plans and drawings for installation guidance
- Complete documentation including safety, production, materials
- Positively reflect Driftwood in interactions with clients, residents, and businesses
- Assist in identification of buried underground utilities prior to excavation
- Other tasks as required

The ideal candidate brings:

- Experienced in directional drilling (required)
- Experience in the installation of fibre optic technology (asset)
- 5+ years’ experience operating construction equipment (required)
- Vibratory plow (asset)
- Horizontal directional drill (asset)
- Mini-excavator (asset)
- Trencher (asset)

Driver’s License

- Class 5 (minimum required)
- Class 3 License (required)
- Class 1 License (asset)
- Trailer Endorsement (asset)

Safety Certifications

- Level 1 first aid (asset)
- Ground Disturbance (asset)
